While we were at the museum we thought we would ask to see if we could get a tour of the fire hall next door and they were very accommodating.  Greg a senior nozzleman came down and talked to the kids and showed us around.  He did a fabulous job, the kids loved it.  Thank you district 16!!

My sister found out that there is a new firefighter muesum in Calgary that opened in June.  We thought we would check it out.  It was a really good visit however I had hoped it was a little more interactive.  I think over time it will become better and better.  Here are some pictures.

This is the engine outside the doors.

A snuggle with a true fire dog??  Lol.

Cate and Quinn having some fun in the dress up corner.

More fun!

A horse drawn water tank………

Future firewoman?

A very cool set of cabinets.

It was a really great experience and I am very excited about the potential it has.

I have finally made the time to update our blog however I went a little crazy with the updates.  Make sure you check out all the new ones from our vacation and next week I will update with a few more.  It was a great trip.  Love to all.

Bryce was too fast to take pictures of, he was running all over the place making new friends and having a great time.

Vicky found a wonderful park that had a spray (water) park, mini golf, and even a train ride for the family.  It was lots of fun.

More pictures from the Aquarium.  We were very lucky in the fact that we got there early and there was no line ups to see anything.  We were able to actually park right by the glass at the Beluga whale exhibit.  The whales were very interactive swimming right up close to where we were so the boys could easily see them.  The baby one was very playful as well displaying his tail and waving.  It was very exciting for Bryce.  We were also in time for the dolphin show so hopefully we can posted that video and you can hear Bryce’s enjoyment watching that.  Enjoy the pictures.

Here are some videos from the Aquarium Day we had.

The one thing we really wanted to do other than the wedding we went for was to visit the Vancouver aquarium.  It was awesome.  Bryce and Nate loved it.  Here are some of the pictures.

The fish tanks were just a beautiful array or color, the “monster fish”  were huge, and the rays as well as sharks were unbelievable.  The sharks were so hard to get a good picture of though.

We were on our way to Surrey when we came upon a forest fire off of highway 3.  We didn’t really understand fully what we were about to see as we approached the corner but after we rounded the corner and heard the helicopters it was very clear.  This fire had crept over this mountain top that morning and we arrived there about 3pm Alberta time and it was already half way down the side of the slope.  Check out the pictures we took.  Hope everyone is fine in the small village at the bottom of the hill.

These helicopters were flying right above us as they approached the stream immediately by the road.  The 2 of them would take turns filling there buckets and then flying off to dump them.  We have a video too so maybe Ryan can upload it on the site as it was really an unbelievable site.

As parents we never know if we are raising our children right we just do the best we can and hope we succeed.  Well today I got a little gratification.  Bryce, our 3 year old, insisted on holding the door for 3 elderly ladies when we were out at the mall today.  The best part was that a teenager pushed his way through before the ladies could go through.  Hopefully Bryce will stay this way and not change into the teenager that pushes his way through.
